PRESQUE ISLE – A U.S. Department of Education grant that will bring more than $1.27 million in grant funding to Northern Maine Community College over the next five years will benefit low income and first-generation students, as well as students with disabilities, attending the campus.

Each summer since 1997 the Caribou Utilities District has taken the opportunity to employ area college- bound students during the summer. In the past only two students were taken on but currently between four and five students become not only part of the local workforce, but the Caribou Utilities District family as well.
